The Heart of Horsekeeping: A Walk Through Legacy Ranch’s Paddock
At Legacy Ranch, the paddock is more than just a place to keep horses—it’s the true hub of our horsekeeping operation. Designed for safety, efficiency, and flexibility, this space is where daily care meets breathtaking beauty.
The paddock is enclosed with horse-safe fencing, providing peace of mind for both horses and owners. A large loafing shed with two stalls, separated by an enclosed tool and tack shed, offers shelter in all seasons. With electric and water service, your horses stay comfortable year-round—water trough heaters and fans when needed, plus ample lighting.
Right outside the shed, a fenced utility area holds a frost-free hydrant and our all-weather Drinking Post automatic waterer—a favorite with our horses. From the paddock, gates lead to multiple turnout options: the 35-acre south pasture for expansive grazing, the 5-acre north field for rotation or layups, and even direct access to the round pens for training or warm-up.
Speaking of round pens, you’ll find a 60-foot training pen east of the paddock, perfect for groundwork and refresher sessions, as well as a slightly smaller pen in the north field that’s ideal for holding or feeding individual horses.
And then there’s the view—Pikes Peak to the west, endless plains to the east, and fields of grass and sunflowers in between. Just north of the paddock is a dedicated hay storage building, keeping feed dry, safe, and separate from horse access.
Whether you’re managing a herd, bringing in a new horse, or simply soaking in the sunset from the paddock gate, this space is set up to make life with horses easier, safer, and more enjoyable.
